Presentation Guidelines for DCABOCUG Meetings
1. Submit presentation abstract no less than 8 weeks prior to meeting 1,2
a. The Board will respond with a decision and comments within 3 weeks
b. Please provide the following information with your abstract
- Several paragraphs or bullet points about the content
- Length of presentation (minutes)
- Media required for your presentation (e.g., laptop, overheads, etc.) that you will provide
- Any additional media you need provided by the User Group or host facility (e.g., video projector)
2. Time your presentation
a. It should be a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes.
b. Please allow time for questions.
3. The topic should be relevant to Crystal Reports, Crystal Analysis, or Crystal Enterprise.
a. Tailor your presentation to the audience
- All user levels are represented at DCABOCUG
- All Crystal products are represented
b. Stick to practical facts rather than a theoretical discussion.
- How we did it/case study
- Tips and tricks
- Tutorial
4. Absence of sales pitch for products or services
a. Presentations that include commercial or promotional sales pitches will not be considered
5. Be mindful of audience diversity
a. Do not use material or language that will in some way disparage members of your audience
6. Please provide, on the day of your presentation, an electronic file copy of your presentation for purposes of posting it to the DCABOCUG web site. This should include both text and graphics.
1 The earlier the presentation is submitted the better. The Board may have multiple submissions to consider, and would appreciate the time.
2 In the event of a scheduling difficulty or other extraordinary circumstance, the Board may waive the 8-week lead-time to review the presentation abstract. We do ask that the presentation abstract be submitted as early as possible.
